I have been wanting to do this fine art photoshoot for YEARS so when I finally found the idea of using a kiddie pool for it I was thrilled. It’s inspired by a painting from the 1800s named Ophelia by British artist Sir John Everett Millais. It depicts Ophelia, a character from William Shakespeare’s play Hamlet, singing before she drowns in a river. I’ve always been drawn to this painting and its ethereal beauty and have wanted to recreate it in a photoshoot for so long. My stepdaughter Gilliann and her cousin Shyann were perfect models for this shoot, especially with Shyann’s long beautiful copper hair. I bought some plastic lily pads and flowers and with some photoshop magic transformed a kiddie pool into an ethereal river, just like the painting! I bought the girls beautiful flowing white dresses and I think these pictures came out amazing.

I spent months looking for the perfect pond to do my Ophelia shoot. And then I saw some girl on YouTube use a kiddie pool! So here it is my kiddie pool Ophelia shoot… I think it’s just gorgeous!
