TWO Fall Weddings at Hurst Ranch
Coincidentally two weddings in the same venue one week apart..and what a beautiful little venue! We had so much fun at this wedding. The whole crew was there including Maya assisting, Noah Second Shooting, Patrick with video, and of course myself. The couple was hilarious! Total geeks just like me! Michelle was wearing a really cool vintage hair piece and a beautiful Enzoani dress. These two were so in love.. it was so sweet to see, lots of kisses all day! It was a beautiful day… overcast and warm. Of course, an overcast day is what most photographers are praying for. We got to shoot in spots I couldn’t shoot last week… because the light was perfect this day!
My crew and I showed up at Michelle’s dressing room and as she got ready we shot her detailed photos. We hung up her dress and thankfully she had a custom hangar that said bride which always makes the pictures look way better. Her veil was especially detailed and had beautiful lace trim. She had a cute custom flask, beautiful silver rings, silver beaded sandal-like shoes, and a gorgeous vintage headpiece. We shot her final photos of getting ready and putting on her jewelry and soon enough we were ready to head out and shoot the boys. we shot a few photos of Billy getting ready in his room and the guys all had Harry Potter socks that matched whichever house they fell into. It was so geeky and cute. After that, we went back to the girls who were ready to get photos taken altogether. My second shooter Noah stayed with the boys and got some pictures while I shot the bridal party. We shot in front of the beautiful yellow and white farmhouse where they had gotten ready inside and it made for some beautiful warm photos. Afterward, we headed out to the tool shed which made for some really cool-looking antique and rustic photos. Right next to the toolshed were the corn fields which is my favorite part of the lovely Hurst Ranch nestled in West Covina. No wonder we had just shot here last weekend because this venue is perfect for anyone who wants a vintage rustic look featuring beautiful landscapes, barns, rows and rows of corn, and so much more. It was the perfect time of year too because Hurst Ranch SCREAMS fall vibes. We got some breathtaking photos of just the Bride against the overcast sky in the cornfield and used off-camera flash for extra pop.
After getting some amazing photos of Claudia and her Bridal party it was time to shoot the Groomsmen. And let me tell you they were a handful but also my type of people. They were super nerdy and geeky and just seriously hilarious. Of course, we started with some fun running around shots too! We walked all around Hurst Ranch and after shooting all the boys we got plenty of solo shots of Billy. After we had shot the groom it was about time for the ceremony. My crew and I shot the florals and setting of the ceremony before it began. The florals were stunning and perfect for this Autumn wedding. The ring bearer was pulled in the cutest wagon down the aisle and the flower girls (with matching flower crowns) walked down and laughed the whole time. Billy started crying when he saw Michelle but still had a huge smile planted on his face. They were both an emotional mess the whole ceremony and were so clearly in love. They got married on a beautiful September day with a beautiful overcast sky background.
After the ceremony, they took pictures with family and friends and we headed off to take formal photos of just the couple. Hurst Ranch is such a beautiful venue and we visited a bunch of my favorite spots to shoot all around the area. There was also a classic white Volkswagen bug which was cool to shoot photos with. After we shot a bunch of photos of the married couple we headed inside to the reception area in Hurst Ranch. They had a table for their lost loved ones who were still there in spirit for their big day. They also had a very adorable cake that had a cake topper where Michelle and Billy were little gnomes. I absolutely loved it. When they did their cake cutting Billy’s friends were very involved which was super funny. After a lot of dancing and fun, the family did some speeches and it was time for the bouquet and garter toss. The party went on for a while after but it was time for my crew to pack up and leave.
Billy and Michelle were such a geeky, fun, loving couple. It was such a sweet and beautiful wedding full of love and laughter and was such an honor to be a part of. The couple was super kind to me and my crew and I couldn’t have asked for a better day. The weather was perfect, the venue was gorgeous, my crew was helpful as always, and the couple was amazing. I want to give a huge shoutout to everyone who made this day happen! Of course, a huge thank you to @bashful.butler for the great food @Fannys-Flowers for the GORGEOUS flowers!! Wow, they were spectacular! @Hurst-Ranch thank you for the great staff and wonderful work. Thank you to @Lovelybecka Becka Nop for all of her coordinating help.. she was indispensable!!

Rustic Hurst Ranch Wedding
I am so glad that I got to shoot this beautiful wedding. Hearing all of the perfect and emotional speeches and getting a chance to shoot at this beautiful little venue tucked away in West Covina… the lighting was magical here. This very God-loving couple was sweet and fun! They had a sunset ceremony… which really extenuated the cafe lights above.. it was stunning. My crew and I usually start the day with the bride and her girls getting ready but Claudia and David said they only really cared about getting photos of them all dressed and ready so we met up with Claudia at the Hurst Ranch in West Covina. Hurst Ranch is a gorgeous rustic venue and it’s actually so popular I have another wedding there next weekend! What are the chances lol. It’s almost like this venue is perfect for anyone who wants a vintage rustic look featuring beautiful landscapes, barns, rows and rows of corn, and so much more. It was the perfect time of year too because Hurst Ranch SCREAMS Autumn vibes. Anyways, we met up with Claudia and arranged for her and David to have their first look. Their first look was super sweet and we jumped into formal pictures right after. we walked all around Hurst Ranch and took some beautiful photos of the sweet couple. The sun was at an amazing spot in the sky that wasn’t too harsh for photography and it was awesome.
They had a small wedding party, mostly full of family and their best friends, which I always prefer as it makes it more intimate. That way you’re not risking including someone in your wedding who might not be in your life down the road. And trust me you have no idea how many times I’ve been asked to edit out a bridesmaid or groomsmen from someone’s wedding and it’s a lot of work lol and you might not want to pay the price.
After we shot photos with the wedding party we went to the corn field at Hurst Ranch in West Covina. It was seriously ethereal and my favorite pictures of the wedding came from this. Afterward, they headed off to relax a little before the ceremony, and my second shooter, Noah, and I shot some details of the ceremony and reception. They even had cute little plants to take home as wedding favors!
After the ceremony, it was time to party! We all headed inside the Hurst Ranch dance hall and were greeted with a huge dessert table and cake and twinkle lights everywhere. They had super fancy pastries and donuts and a mountain of sweets along with their beautiful cake that was adorned with red pink and white roses. Claudia and David did their grand entrance and went straight into their first dance. After a super sweet first dance, their moms and Cladia’s sister shared very heartfelt speeches. We seemed to be speeding through formalities as we then headed to cutting their first cake. Then came the bouquet toss which was fought for hard by the single ladies and was super funny to watch. I also used to do photo booth services which this couple added to their package. They wanted me to bring my large gold sequin background and of course, I brought all my props and everything. My second shooter ran the photo booth for me while I shot at the end of the night. Unfortunately, I discontinued my photobooth services not too long ago but I’m glad this couple got to take advantage of it while I still offered it because their photo booth pictures came out really cute thanks to me.
We finished the night with the married couple taking pictures with various guests as everyone danced the night away. It was a super sweet and fun wedding at a beautiful venue and I wish Claudia and David a beautiful future. I can tell they clearly love each other and have faith in their relationship. A huge thank you to everyone. Claudia was sooooo busy since she’s a lawyer she had been working 12 hours days up until the wedding and barely had time for a phone call. A huge thanks to her for making a little time for me. To Sylvia, her sister, who has been a loyal client for many years and really helped get this wedding together. To David for making the day so fun and silly. And to all the vendors that made this day possible! The people at Hurst Ranch were so nice, really sweet people. The Bashful Butler made the MOST EXTRAORDINARY BBQ which coincidentally is my favorite wedding food! Candlelight Bakery made the beautiful wedding cake. Power and Strength Productions was so much fun with his music!!! THANKS EVERYONE!!
