Your Guide To Your Engagement Session and gallery of images
What you need to know and how to stay calm and keep breathing! Cuz' I gotcha!First thing first.. What location do you envision for your engagement session..
Picking the perfect outfits for your engagement session is like planning a date with your future selves – you want to look back and say, “Wow, we nailed it!” Think coordination, not matching. You’re a dynamic duo, not twins from a 90s sitcom! Go for complementary colors and styles that showcase your personalities without stealing the show. And remember, logos and loud prints are great for a lazy Sunday but not for timeless photos. Keep it chic and simple so your love story shines through, not your brand loyalty. So, spoil yourselves and go do a little shopping.
Every location has it’s vibe, you know. You don’t want to wear high heels and a red bodycon dress to the park, you know what I mean! A long flowy boho dress would be perfect for a park session. But, for the beach you can do something more formal or more loose and casual.
Downtown locations can be both casual and formal
So bring 2-3 outfits, make sure the outfits are steamed and if you need ideas here is my Pinterest page for inspo on outfits
Don’t forget accessories… earrings, hats, necklaces.. etc.
Great hair and makeup can make your engagement photos pop and leave you feeling fabulous! Think of it as a mini glam session where you get to pamper yourself and feel like a star. A killer hairstyle can add that extra flair, whether you’re going for chic waves or a fun, messy bun. And a bit of makeup magic can make your features glow, ensuring you’re camera-ready and looking your best. It’s all about boosting your confidence so you can focus on having fun and being yourselves. So, let’s embrace the glam and capture some unforgettable moments!
So please schedule your hair and make up to be done by a professional. My girl is amazing.. here is her IG ROBINSTAR_ARTISTRY
Also dont forget your mani and pedi especially if your outfit shows your toesies!
You want to get to the location with a half hour to spare… please don’t be late. There is always terrible traffic in So Cal and you guys all know how terrible parking can be. So give yourself that cushion. We are normally shooting right into end of sunset and so if you are late.. there is no extra time that we can shoot because it will be night and the light will be gone!
Also.. some locations charge for parking or even an hourly fee. So make sure to look at the locations list closely for that information
If you are your partner tend to be late let me know and I will tell you a different time so that you can be psychologically prepared
First rule: stay calm and have fun! Think of it as a romantic adventure with a professional third wheel. I know it can be overwhelming to have to think about getting your hair and make up done.. choosing a cool location…choosing amazing outfits and then making sure all the time frames line up and you are there on time. (Am I making this worse lol)
I don’t want you to worry about anything! I AM THE SHIT! You will love your photos.. I promise!
And hey, if you don’t like something – a stray hair, a surprise pimple, or your partner blinks alot– don’t sweat it. We have the magic of Photoshop at our disposal! So relax, enjoy the moment, and let’s create some fantastic memories. If all else fails, we’ll just edit it out!
You don’t have to worry about any posing.. I gotcha! You don’t have to worry about how cute you will look because I am only looking out for YOU and your best angles! So you have nothing to worry about! I have your back! I promise you will have fun!
Lastly
If you want to bring a cart so that you can have all of your clothing and accessories please do so it will be helpful
If it’s chilly bring a jacket or sweater for in between photos
Bring comfy slip on shoes for in between photos
Bring water and stay hydrated… your photos and skin will thank you for it
Make sure you rest well the night before.. no zombie eyes please!
If you want a bright white smile I like Crest White Professional Strips.. try those out a 2 weeks before you shoot. I do them every 6 months!
