Little Baby Callen comes in for his Newborn photos

Little baby Callen Nico came in a few weeks ago for his newborn photos. He was born on 6/10/22 at 2:34 pm weighing 5lbs and 13 oz at about 18.75 inches long.

He was a dream to photograph. He was born premature so we tend to wait a little longer than normal for newborns and start shooting them around their predicted due date. Since he was so small he barely ever woke up and him mom was on it, she recorded every stat she could about him and times his feedings. It actually helped a lot to predict when he was about to get gassy, or fussy, or needed a feeding. His mom Nikki is a nurse practitioner, which is what my daughter wants to be, so they talked a lot about it as she assisted me and during down times. Her husband Ryan is a mechanical engineer so they’re livin’ the life. She told the story of how they met and it was so sweet. They met in a bar when he was living in LA and she was at a rehearsal dinner as a bridesmaid for her friends wedding. They hit it off and have been together ever since. They have to beautiful baby boys and aren’t planning on anymore. They brought Callen’s big brother Lawson for some photos of the two boys. Lawson had to be bribed with a few m&ms to be still but we eventually got some good photos and Ryan took Lawson to the park by my house to burn some of his energy off. Nikki and Ryan actually live about minutes down the road from me so they arrived early which I’m telling you NEVER happens in newborn shoots. I loved talking with Nikki and am super grateful she could give advice to my daughter who is pursuing nursing. She and her whole family were so sweet and a pleasure to shoot.

Callen’s mom Nikki chose an ocean theme for baby Callen as his older brother Lawson had a safari theme for his newborn shoot. I thought that was so cute and the pictures taken will match their rooms and I can’t wait for them to receive their prints.
