There are weddings that ignite your belief in love. I mean all weddings are wonderful but some of them.. well some of them.. make you soar! This was one of those weddings. It made you cry.. it made you laugh.. and made you feel deep down into your core. Lorena was composed while she was getting ready. Then she saw her dad and brother and the waterworks started. We started shooting the details soon after. Lorena’s heels had silver floral details and her double garter was entirely composed of tiny ribbons and bows. Her ring had a HUGE square-shaped diamond and it matched Manny’s simple silver ring. Lorena continued her theme of huge jewels with her necklace and earrings. We hung her dress up on a chandelier at the Hacienda Golf Club and the shots were absolutely gorgeous as the sun shined through the dress. Lorena’s dress had lace on the bodice and pearl buttons down the spine. We also shot her lace-trimmed veil. Lorena’s mom helped her put her dress on and buttoned the pearl buttons. The bride finished putting on her heels and jewelry and we shot some beautiful formal pictures of her. She then met up with her family and took some photos. Afterward, we headed outside and took some gorgeous pictures on a red velvet lace chair that was outside. Lorena looked absolutely gorgeous and was flawless in front of the camera. We shot the Bride with her girls and some family and it was time to move on to the boys. Manny looked very handsome and was so pumped for the day ahead and to see Lorena. The couple then hid behind a pillar and read their vows to each other without seeing each other. It was really heartfelt and such a special moment. They even held hands with their backs turned from each other. Once Lorena left we could get down and dirty with the boys again. We took some pictures of Manny with his groomsmen in the gorgeous courtyard at the Hacienda Golf Club. I swear there are so many beautiful spots for photography at The Hacienda Golf Club that the possibilities are endless. I could rave endlessly about this venue and I highly recommend it to brides who can fit it within their budget.
Then… Oh My God… the most amazing opening ceremony procession ever. Imagine this.. complete silence… COMPLETE SILENCE as the bridesmaids and groomsmen walk into the ceremony area. And then as Lorena steps into the twisted flower petal path… the music comes in… at first soft. .just a whisper and then a ROAR. And the song… OMG.. the song…(LOOK IT UP) Dance with me by Robert Shirey Kelly. WOW. It made everyone cry.. even my crew! Lorena walked up the path with her veil on and Manny teared up at the other end. They exchanged their vows and the ceremony couldn’t have been more perfect. It was like straight-up out of a movie. After the ceremony, we headed out for some more pictures!
The weather was perfect.. warm with a cool breeze. The light was magical as it often is at the Hacienda Golf Club. But this time it was sunset at the right time.. right after the ceremony (no sneaking away during the reception.) And boy was it a spectacular sunset! We shot until almost nightfall and headed back inside The Hacienda Golf Club. And Manny and Lorena… SO IN LOVE! The guests… I have never seen so many people soooo in LOVE with the couple. Hugs and tears and kisses… EVERYWHERE!! It was a sight to see, let me tell you! Dad sang at the reception and brought tears to everyone’s eyes! It was a spectacular wedding and I feel soooo blessed to have been the one capturing such a monumental day! The cake was a huge three-tier ornate fondant rose-covered behemoth. The bridal party made their grand entrance and the newly married Bride and Groom danced to their first song. They lovingly held each other as they danced intimately. Later on, their family and some friends gave beautiful speeches about the couple and I found myself tearing up all day. This was seriously such a special wedding and to this day one of my favorites. They then went into the mother-son and daddy-daughter dance. I got some gorgeous photos during that that you can see in this blog. After they got their formalities done (bouquet toss, garter toss, cake cutting) it was time to party!!! And let me tell you these people knew how to BRING IT. To end our time with the couple they wanted a big group shot with all the guests making hearts with their hands. It was so sweet and a great way to remember everyone that attended their special day.
A big thank you to Lorena and Manny who were such a lovely, unique, fun, caring, and simply amazing couple. I know their love will last a lifetime and I wish them nothing but happiness and thank them for hiring me to take part in their special day. I shot their engagement at Mission San Juan Capistrano where I really got the chance to get to know them. They have a really interesting love story. Lorena went back to school and they went on a break so she could focus on her studies. Manny waited for her because he knew she was his soulmate. The day of the wedding was all emotion the entire time. So many times people are nervous to be vulnerable and this wedding was the opposite of that. No one seemed nervous everyone was so at ease. It is a wedding that definitely restores your faith in weddings, love, and soulmates. The families were so connected and were so happy for the couple. Lorena and Manny are one of my favorite couples to date and of course, the Hacienda Golf Club is one of my favorite venues to shoot at.
