Atoosa is one of my closest friends so I was especially thrilled and offered to shoot their intimate courthouse wedding. Not to say that I’m not thrilled to shoot every wedding I’m hired for but she is especially near and dear to my heart.
Atoosa wore an adorable vintage knee-length dress with sparkly short silver heels. Her flowers bloomed with pinks and reds and looked absolutely beautiful. She wore silver jewelry and a hair clip to match. Patrick wore an all-black suit, a velour black jacket, and a white rose boutineer.
We walked all around the area taking photos of them and did a mix of some posed photos but also some more movement shots like walking and twirling which I always really like. When we do movement shots I find they appear to be a lot more natural and candid which is more my style. Old Orange County courthouse is so beautiful and I’m so glad she chose it to get married at because the photo opportunities were endless. We also took some pictures with Patrick’s beautiful all-black car which he’s in love with. Downtown Santa Ana is just so beautiful and I frequently go to this fountain in the middle of a small plaza for these out-of-focus couple pictures with the water trickling in the foreground.
Courthouse weddings, also known as civil ceremonies, have gained popularity for their simplicity, intimacy, and efficiency. I love photographing all kinds of weddings from courthouse weddings and elopements to huge all-day events with hundreds of guests. Every wedding is special and remember your wedding should be about you and your partner and whatever makes the both of YOU happy. A lot of people look back and wish they wouldn’t have spent the money on a big wedding or they look back and say they’re glad they did because it was one of the best days of their life that only happens once. It’s up to you whether you want to share your day with just yourselves, immediate family and friends, or everyone who is special to you. At the end of the day, you should do what is right for you and your love story, and no matter what kind of wedding it is you deserve beautiful photos to capture it. Even if I’m your only guest I’ll be your witness hahaha.
Atoosa is one of my favorite people on earth and I’m so blessed to have her in my life and to have been a part of this special day. I know she and Patrick are gonna have a long and beautiful future ahead of them and wish them nothing but happiness and the best.
