NOW OFFERING ARTWORK CREATED FROM DIGITAL BACKGROUNDS JUST FOR MY PORTRAIT CLIENTS!
Square Eye Photography is now offering to spruce up your regular portrait sessions by adding digital backgrounds. We want to turn your portrait sessions from GREAT to GASP! There’s nothing wrong with any of the locations in Orange County, California for portrait sessions. I have shot lovely maternity sessions, high school seniors, family portraits and much more in all of the gorgeous locations in Orange County. Sometimes though, a client wants to do something a little different. I just had a very loyal client who wanted to do her maternity session in the snow. We planned, for weeks to head out to big bear to shoot her maternity session. At the last minute though, she realized that she was just too tired to sit through the traffic and try to find snow. As many of us So Cal people know, there usually isn’t snow up in the mountains. This particular day there was supposedly a little bit of snow that had sprinkled in our local mountain range, and by local I mean two hours away. At this time I wish I would’ve known about all of the cool things that I could’ve done digitally.
We are used to seeing CGI used for movies. We remember being in awwww at seeing the first Jurassic Park. Nowadays, it’s difficult to know when a director chooses to use CGI because the technology has come so far and it looks so real. So why not extend that to photography. After all film is just a bunch of photographs taken sequentially and played one after the other. It dawned on me that there is no reason why someone with my Photoshop skills and with the type of experience that I have wouldn’t be able to do the same thing. I mean, I have been shooting for well over 20 years and have been using Photoshop pretty much since its inception.
For fans of fantasy and surreal photography this allows you to have your own family or child in a surreal and fantasy scene. Your imagination can now be created just for you! I’m super excited to be going down this really creative and artistic path and I feel that this aligns beautifully with the rest of the artwork that I produce. Hope you guys like it too.. let me know below in the comments!
Below I have included a bunch of photographs which I have digitally produced. You will see the before and after, both the portrait session that I shot and the original digital background and the digital artwork that I created. And all the way at the bottom, I have included a YouTube tutorial to show you guys how I go about doing this. How I go about turning a standard beautiful portrait session into an amazing piece of artwork that you can have in your home.
I started with newborn digital backdrops and now I’m offering it for all portrait sessions. The portrait has to be shot in the same type of lighting condition as the digital background so it is something that has to be pre-meditated. It has to be preplanned and then executed just for the background of your choice. I have many digital backgrounds and thousands that can be purchased just for your session. If you are interested in booking a session with me, Edna, at Square Eye Photography, please email me (info is below.) You can also directly download pricing from my website under Pricing and Downloads.
I love this lavender fields photo of my lovely bride! I flipped her to have the lighting come from the left side and made her all lavender to fit the image.. including flowers.
This majestic forest leaves you in awwwww and my client makes it even more magical!
I turned her dress from red to magenta and took away the leggings to make it all a dress.
Wow, how many brides wish that they had this view on their wedding day. I had one client just yesterday tell me that she wanted beach pictures of her wedding but it just wouldn’t be possible with the time constraints.. now it’s all possible!
How cute is this little girl! I turned her red cardigan green to match and coordinate with the background and made her dress cream colored also.. I adore her!
This definitely should be categorized as surreal fantasy artwork . These red trees and the soft mistly background are gorgeous. I put this little cutie in the photo and softened her up for a more surreal look.
Here is the YouTube tutorial on how I created one of the above images.
