WOW, this certainly was a wedding to remember. A 15-foot cake… flowers that are dripping from the head table. A gorgeous venue and a gorgeous couple! We started the day off at the Gorgeous W Hotel in Hollywood where Velma put on her custom wedding dress, made and designed by her. She is a famous designer in Nigeria. She made and designed her dress and her daughter’s dresses. So incredible. We shot the details at the W Hotel and Velma had a gorgeous silver floral headpiece. Everything matched silver from the rings, the shoes dripping in jewels, her necklace, and her earrings. Velma was finishing up her makeup as we shot details and she had a beautiful smoky eye. After her bridesmaids helped her put her dress on and she finished her hair and everything we were ready to take a few photos and head out to the ceremony.

We arrived at St Jerome Catholic Church as guests anticipatedly waited outside. We went through the side so no one would catch a glimpse of the bride. Gordy and the guests flooded the church and Velma was walked down the aisle by her father who was very stoic. Gordy teared up as Velma walked down the aisle and the ceremony began. It was a pretty traditional Catholic ceremony with a lot of tradition religion and culture being integral to the ceremony. They knelt before the priests and received their blessings. Everyone was asked to pray and after about an hour the ceremony was over and it was time for some family photos. We shot some outside the beautiful stained glass windows of St. Jerome Catholic Church and their families were so lovely. Its hard to find families that actually listen to instruction after the rush of a wedding but they were super cooperative and friendly with my staff. After we finished up with family photos we took the couple aside and did some photos of just the two of them. They even had a limo so we had to get a picture of them with it lol. The sun was setting so it was the perfect time of day for their photography and I couldn’t have asked for better conditions.

The cake was 15 tiers and had a literal staircase on it it was insane. It had pink and white florals down the base that matched the pink and white florals on the bouquets and floral arrangements. It looked like a mini house and they sliced it with a Katana sword lol.

Afterward, we headed to the famous Taglyan Complex in Hollywood where we saw the grandest reception. Beautiful flowers… a gorgeous head table and the TALLEST cake I have ever seen made by talented Pink on Ice. It was a super fun wedding filled with so much love and dancing. At night the lights outside the venue turned on so I snuck the couple out for some gorgeous photos by the lit up trees and the fountain. This venue is regal beyond compare and it was so fun to shoot here and explore it. They had some of their friends read speeches and did their first dance as husband and wife. It was straight out of a movie as they danced through a layer of fog on the dance floor. and don’t get me started on the money dance! Their guests seriously made it rain and money was EVERYWHERE. The bride changed into a gold dress later in the night that she also designed so she could dance comfortably and she still looked fabulous.
