This pretty lady came in for maternity photos. We contemplated doing a milk bath but this artsy little thing fell in love with my Ophelia shoot and wanted to dare to be different. So we went for it. The ophelia shoot is quite a bit of set up but so worth it.
I met Erica years before when I shot her boudoir session with a few other ladies and I was thrilled that the sexy shoot worked LOL! Now Erica is gonna be a mommy to a baby boy. How exciting!
OPHELIA PHOTOGRAPHY
As you can tell I was so so happy she wanted to do something unique and it was such a treat. If you’re interested in this particular shoot it is most definitely open to all but has additional (totally worth it) charge that gets added on due to the extra work that goes into it including:
- Kiddie pool needs to be washed, cleaned, and filled
- Watercolors are added to the pond
- Props and florals
- All light needs to be blocked
- Flash only
- Certain time of day only
- SO MUCH PHOTOSHOP
Below I have a few before and after photos so you can have a little insight of the behind the scenes…
Ophelia is a painting by British artist Sir John Everett Millais, completed in 1851 and 1852 and in the collection of Tate Britain in London. It depicts Ophelia, a character from William Shakespeare’s play Hamlet, singing before she drowns in a river in Denmark. She is driven mad when her father, Polonius, is murdered by her lover, Hamlet. She dies while still very young, suffering from grief and madness. I’ve always been obsessed with this work of art and hope to have done it justice.
