Lauren and Terone were so much fun! It was such a special wedding day! Terone was a college basketball player. They’re still some of my favorite engagement photos to this day. They had a beautiful baby boy together and seem to be living a happy life together. They met in college and have been together ever since.
We started the day at the Kellogg house inside of Cal Poly Pomona while she got her hair and makeup ready. Lauren had beautiful gold heels with straps that were covered in pink tea roses. The bride has a garter with a touch of a blue ribbon as her something blue and a huge diamond ring. Her maid of honor helped lace her wedding dress up and it was covered in lace and form-fitting. Lauren took photos with her friends and her mom and once she was fully dressed it was time to photograph the boys. Terone looked handsome and had a black bow tie to tie his look together. We shot him and his groomsmen all around The Kellogg House and they were all a lot of fun and definitely eye candy. Once we finished with the boys we gave the bridesmaids some extra time to finish getting ready and it was time for their photos. The girls were very hyped and down for all the fun and silly poses I wanted to do. Lauren met up with more family and got some photos taken and it was almost time for the ceremony.
The groomsmen and bridesmaids walked arm in arm down the aisle and the flower girl followed soon after. Terone waited excited and ready to see his bride. Lauren was escorted by her father and joined Terone. Once the ceremony started Lauren and Terone were constantly wiping their tears off their faces, it was so sweet. They exchanged vows and could barely get through them but they did. They exchanged rings, kissed, and were officially husband and wife! They walked back down the aisle and up the stairs hand in hand.
After the ceremony, we headed off to take photos around the Kellogg house. Lauren and Terone were down for anything and were a blast to shoot, so easygoing. We walked around Cal Poly Pomona a little bit and found some beautiful spots for photos. We shot their bridal party and a lot of just the bride and groom. We got some gorgeous pictures of them and headed back for the reception. They had a beautiful first dance that they did on the dance floor while their guests were asked to watch from above. It was absolutely stunning.
At the reception they had the engagement photos I took of them framed and I love when couples feature my work at their wedding. Plus their engagement session was so beautiful that I would be offended if they weren’t showcasing them LOL. Their cake was a 3-tiered naked cake with red and pink flowers and a “MR & MRS” sign as a cake topper. The centerpieces at each table were beautiful pink and red flowers. The staircase to the dance floor was lined with greenery and candles in glass vases. It was ethereal. The Kellogg house is such a beautiful and unique venue. You literally got married on a hilltop that overlooks all of Los Angeles. The House is so vintage and antique but also refined and regal. The dance floor is huge and has a double staircase that leads up to the Kellogg house and kitchen.
Lauren and Teron went into mommy-son and daddy-daughter dances. After that, they danced a little more and went right into speeches. They had a lot of people speak and speeches actually lasted quite a while. After speeches, the DJ led a wedding game where they answer questions about their partner by lifting up the shoe of whomever the answer to the question is. Such as “who is the messy one in the relationship?” and they would hold up either a heel or black shoe. Once that was done dinner was served and the guests got a selection of steak chicken or tofu and kids got chicken tenders. There were so many kids there that there was even a kid’s corner with a tent and s’more station that was super cute. It kept them entertained for a good while. After everyone ate people flooded the dance floor while the bride and groom took table pictures with guests. Once they visited each table they cut their beautiful wedding cake and fed it to each other. After another while of dancing and pure fun, the DJ announced it was time for the bouquet and garter toss. The single guys and gals fought hard and had a good time. After that, came the money dance. The money dance is a tradition where the guests can pay the bride or groom for a personal dance with them to cover some of the wedding costs or contribute to the honeymoon fund. It’s a great alternative to gifts as well especially if the couple already has an established home together and doesn’t need random home appliances. Money is good for everything and they can actually spend it on things they’ll use or need. As a party favor, they gave their guests infused olive oils which was a very unique and tasty gift. Once all the formalities were over it was time for my crew and I to head out and we said goodbye to the gorgeous couple.
