10 Tips for planning a perfect proposal!
So this is it! You found the ONE! You want it to be perfect but you have no idea how to make it super special. You know you want it to be perfect because your love deserves that! Here are the top 10 tips for making your marriage proposal special, flawless and beautiful!
1.Know your partner: Before planning the proposal, make sure you understand your partner’s preferences and personality. This will help you create a proposal that is personal and meaningful to them.
2.Choose the right location: The location of the proposal can make a huge difference in the overall experience. Think about places that are special to you as a couple or locations that hold significance for your partner. If you don’t need to location to be sentimental to you both but you want stunning views or a beautiful location that will look great in photographs I can help you choose something pretty epic!
3.Make it a surprise: While it’s important to know your partner’s preferences, it’s also important to keep the proposal a surprise. Think of creative ways to throw them off track and make the moment even more special.
4. Get the timing right: Timing is everything when it comes to a proposal. Consider factors like the time of day, the day of the week, and the season. You want to choose a time when your partner is relaxed and not distracted by other commitments. You don’t want to pop the question when work is really stressful! Make sure it a good time for both you of you and in regards to photography time.. sunset it always best!
5. Involve family and friends: If your partner is close to their family and friends, consider involving them in the proposal. This can add an extra element of surprise and make the moment even more memorable. If you want something more intimate that is good also!
6. Hire a photographer or videographer: A professional photographer or videographer can capture the moment and create a lasting memory. Consider hiring someone to capture the proposal from a distance or to create a cinematic video. Of course this is one of the most important parts! Nah… me… I’m not biased!
7. Choose the right ring: The engagement ring is a symbol of your commitment, so make sure you choose the right one. Consider your partner’s style, preferences, and budget when selecting a ring.
8. Plan something where you and your partner has to dress up: Trust me I have shot lots of proposals and I have had people show up in sweats thinking this was a movie night. You want to look your best in the photos, these will last a lifetime.. make it special. A client of mine and I just concocted a great story… we were to shoot family photos and towards the end of the shoot my client would propose.. it was perfect! Everyone was all dressed up, I wasn’t hiding in the bushes and it was soooo heartfelt!
9. Plan a special activity afterwards: After the proposal, plan a special activity to celebrate. This could be a dinner at your favorite restaurant, a weekend getaway, or an activity that you both enjoy.
10. Practice makes perfect: Practice your proposal speech and the logistics of the proposal to ensure that everything goes smoothly. This will help you feel more confident and ensure that the moment is perfect.
This is a snippet of a long post that this bride wrote about me on her blog…
“If you are in need of a wedding photographer, I seriously would recommend Edna, she went to the ends of the earth and back for us. By the end of our wedding day she was covered in mud, sweaty and I’m sure exhausted. But she lives for her work, and you can tell. We couldn’t be happier with how things turned out with her! I am linking her website, Pinterest (where she posted a bunch of our photos along with a ton of her other clients) and her Facebook so you can get in touch. If you have any questions or need contact info for her, I would be more than willing to get that to you!
Edna… WE LOVE YOU!!”
