For starters, this will be a little shorter than my normal blogs because this was a mini-wedding! My assistant and I only had a few hours with this couple, just the church ceremony and some photos after, but it was still memorable and the photos came out beautifully (because I shot them, duh). Usually, we are with the couple from hair, makeup, and getting ready all the way until everyone is getting tired from dancing at the reception but this couple opted for a more intimate dinner reception, and … They’re already married! They had a destination wedding with a whole party so this was just for the church ceremony and close family who couldn’t make it to the destination wedding they had a short while ago. David even mentioned that he’s seen her wedding dress so many times that he doesn’t want to see it again any time soon hahaha.
We started our mini-wedding with the bride and groom at the church ceremony. They ran a little late because the groom couldn’t find his bow tie so they had to go buy a new one. I always say, “Something is gonna go wrong at your wedding all you can hope for is that it is something fixable”. Blanca walked into the church with a beautiful long veil and glimmering cathedral-style crown. David stood with a white jacket and black suit pants with a white roses boutonniere. White roses lined the church and it was beautiful.
After the ceremony, we took some quick family photos outside the church and then headed out to Peter F. Schabarum Park for some photos of just the couple. Right when we got there you’ll never guess what happened: a bee started following Blanca! It was getting stuck in her veil and just wouldn’t leave her alone and eventually did end up stinging her. Poor Blanca has had allergic reactions in the past so her husband sucked out the venom so we could continue with photos. If that isn’t love I don’t know what is. We did our best with the time we had and these guys are troopers so I appreciate them getting deep in the leaves and everything, bees and all.
