What a dream come true! This wedding was one I have been anticipating for quite a while. When Jessie walked into my place with her “Happy Dance” I knew she was the client for me. We started the day at the Maya hotel, all the girls squeezed into a room overlooking the Bay. It was a perfect day! The weather was cool and lovely. My crew and I got there and greeted the girls. Jessie was so excited, one of the most excited brides I’ve ever met! It was so refreshing. We talked and I started shooting details. Jessie’s wedding ring was beautiful and the main diamond was shaped like a heart! so cute! Steve’s ring was a classic sleek black band. She had a beautiful floral headpiece and super blingy hairclips. She had beautiful diamond teardrop earrings and a matching necklace. The bride’s heels were silver and so elegant. The straps were covered in little jewels. We then hung her wedding dress on a spot we found in the beautiful Maya Hotel in front of large wooden doors. After taking pictures of the details we shot Jessie finishing up her hair and makeup. She was so full of joy and laughs she was practically in tears! She and her bridal party danced around the room and we shot some pictures in their matching pink robes. Her bridesmaids helped Jessie put on her dress as she screamed with joy. Her dress was so pretty and lace seemed to seamlessly come out of her back. Jessie’s wedding dress was full of tule and blossomed out like a flower. Her maid of honor helped put her elegant heels on as we took pictures. After we finished shooting the Bride and her Bridal party we headed over to shoot the first look.
Steve and Jessie had their first look at the Maya Hotel in Long Beach. She tapped him on the shoulder and they had a long hug and cried together. It was so full of love and I highly recommend everyone to do a first look if you’re questioning it. We then followed with photos of the bridal party and family along with photos of the two of them. We explored around The Maya Hotel and took some really pretty photos in the greenery and around the main fountain. We took some artsy and creative photos by the water and on some docks that I really love. We then headed inside to take some pictures and video inside The Maya Hotel and it was gorgeous. The high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows made for amazing pictures. The hot pink and gray themes in the hotel cast themselves through the stained glass and onto the bride’s dress. We headed out to the courtyard and Jessie and Steve danced with each other in pure bliss. We finished up with family photos and headed toward the sunset ceremony.
The ceremony was at the beautiful venue, The Reef overlooking The Queen Mary and the Bay. It was right before sunset with perfect timing. The bride’s mom, dressed in traditional Asian attire, walked Jessie down the aisle. The sun set as the couple exchanged their vows and had their first kiss as Husband and Wife. Right after the ceremony, we shot at that little park by the Queen Mary for sunset photos, and OH THAT VIEW!!!! We then headed back to the Reef for a fun-filled night thanks to @djhector Hector Duran who DJ’ed the festivity.
At the reception, the couple had a HUGE dessert bar filled with assorted candies, gummies, and custom cookies that were baseball themed. The Reef reception hall was filled with white and pink flowers and rose gold details. There was an outside area that had an impeccable view overlooking the Queen Mary and we got some beautiful night photos of all the guests and the couple. You could see the city skyline reflected on the water and it was so beautiful. The bridal party and groomsmen joined the couple by dancing their way into the grand entrance and their first dance. Right after the Bride danced with her mom and the room fell silent and the family cried. The groom danced with his mother and they went into speeches after that. The maid of honor and best man spoke and the couple was moved to tears. The bride changed into a different wedding dress for the reception! A gorgeous mermaid-style form-fitting dress. It looked amazing on her! After the emotional speeches, it was time to loosen up and dance! The dance floor opened and the Bride and groom cut their traditional white wedding cake that had a few pink roses along it. The Dj announced it was time for the bouquet toss and tons of single ladies flooded the dance floor. After her friend caught the bouquet came the garter toss. Steve’s friend caught the garter and The girl who caught the bouquet danced with him. It was so funny lol. The guests danced on and we ended the night taking a few goodie bags home with us.
It was an emotionally charged day full of so much laughter and a few sweet tears. A huge thank you to everyone who made this day possible First of all my team did an amazing job.
